About Me

Learn more about me and my approach

You are the expert in your own life and my role is to support and guide you on your journey to recognising that you have the resources and capacity to make the change that you are seeking.  Along the way you may discover more things about you that change your assumptions about who you are and the way you perceive your life and your relationships. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can share your thoughts, feelings and concerns without fear of being criticised, misrepresented or misunderstood.

Counselling is about change and change can be both life-affirming and scary.  The experience can be challenging, rewarding and transformational if you are willing to commit to the process and be compassionate and patient with yourself.  Successful outcomes in counselling are underpinned by the relationship between an individual and their counsellor. I have written a short article about the therapeutic relationship, click here to read it.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2021 and graduated from the University of Chichester in 2023 with a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling.  I have a commitment to professional and ethical practice and work within the BACP’s Ethical Framework.  My practice is inclusive and aims to recognise and acknowledge difference in an open and respectful way. I have experience in both private practice and the Third Sector, with individuals and groups.

I take a holistic approach to counselling, considering your mind, body and spirit as interconnected parts of your wellbeing.  We will work together to create a good relationship that is supportive and empowering.  Whether you are dealing with relationship issues, struggles with self-esteem, anger, anxiety or any other challenges, I can work with you to find your own path through adversity.

In addition, I can offer creative activities that can facilitate psychological wellbeing and acts as a salve to troublesome memories and feelings.  These activities can gently bring to your awareness you innate capacity for creative thinking which can help you to resolve areas of distress or concern.
